The “Roger” Belt: A Success Story

A year and a half later, Streets Ahead’s “Roger” belt is still going strong! Read more about how this belt, inspired by the vintage one SJP wore in “Sex & The City” has had such a long shelf life.

We call it iconic because this belt first appeared in its original form over one year ago (eternity in fashion shelf life years) as worn multiple times by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and The City. That was a vintage belt, one size, one style. Before the film premiered, we got a call from one of our weekly tabloid editor friends who knew we were the go-to resource for belts having positioned our client Streets Ahead as such. She asked us to replicate the belt which we did virtually overnight! It appeared in fashion stories and segments like The Today Show, the weekly tabloids and many, many fashion editorials. The first retail order placed was for $200,000 from one department store! Months later, Paris Hilton and Lauren Conrad were spotted wearing the belt on the street and it could be found in almost every better fashion boutique.

We’re glad to see that the belt is still going strong!
